Al-Sudani Stresses Importance of Positive Engagement with Citizens During Security Duties


Baghdad: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, emphasized the significance of positive engagement with citizens while performing security duties. A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office highlighted his participation in a Ramadan iftar meal with officers and members of the Special Forces on Thursday.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani extended his congratulations to those present for the holy month of Ramadan and the forthcoming Eid al-Fitr. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Special Forces, honoring those who became martyrs or were wounded in defense of the homeland, and commended their role in maintaining security and stability in Baghdad. He praised their discipline and commitment, which have contributed to progress in construction, reconstruction, and development throughout the country.



The Prime Minister underscored the necessity of addressing any shortcomings or violations in duties or interactions with citizens. He advised officers and Special Forces members to engage positively with citizens while performing their responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of readiness, training, fitness, and empowerment, along with the necessary equipment and supplies to ensure security.



Al-Sudani also instructed that officers and Special Forces members be included in the allocation of serviced residential plots and the facilitation of loans.
