Six Killed and 19 Injured in Tourist Submarine Sinking in Hurghada


Hurghada: Six people were killed and 19 others were injured in a submarine sinking accident operating on tourist trips in the Egyptian city of Hurghada, overlooking the Red Sea.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Egyptian city of Hurghada witnessed a tragic accident when the tourist submarine “Sinbad” sank in front of the Marriott Hotel marina, resulting in the death of six people, all of foreign nationalities, and the injury of 19 others.



The media added: “The competent authorities responded immediately upon receiving the report. Security forces and rescue teams were dispatched to the site of the accident, and the injured and bodies were transported to hospitals.



The exact causes behind the submarine sinking have not yet been revealed, while a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the accident and the extent of the trip’s compliance with maritime safety procedures.”
