Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emphasized the critical role that tribes play in fostering societal peace and resolving conflicts. In a meeting held on Thursday with a delegation of sheikhs and dignitaries from the Al-Dhulam Al-Shaalan tribe of Muthanna Governorate, the Prime Minister outlined the pivotal contributions of Iraqi tribes in reinforcing societal unity and preserving cultural identity and values.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement from the Prime Minister’s media office elaborated on Al-Sudani’s views regarding the indispensable function of tribes in not only upholding the rule of law but also in enhancing the stability that Iraq currently enjoys. The Prime Minister acknowledged the tribes’ significant influence in mitigating conflicts and addressing societal problems, thereby contributing to a peaceful coexistence within the country.

Furthermore, Al-Sudani underscored the importance of tribal support in governmental initiatives, particularly in construction and reconstruction efforts across Iraq.
