Baghdad: The Ministry of Transport – General Company for Air Navigation Services announced today that Air France has resumed using Iraqi airspace following a hiatus of more than five months. The resumption comes as a result of efforts and direct follow-up by the Ministry of Transport.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Abbas Al-Baydani, the general manager of the company, stated that the French airline Air France has returned to utilizing Iraqi airspace. He highlighted that the air corridors in Iraqi airspace are a preferred option for many airlines due to the shortened transportation routes and reduced fuel consumption they offer, enhancing the competitive position of Iraqi airspace as a strategic link between East and West.

Al-Baydhani emphasized the commitment of the company’s Air Traffic Management Department to continue preparing all necessary technical and navigational requirements. This preparation aims to ensure the safety and smooth flow of air traffic within Iraqi airspace, reinforcing its role as a key transit route for international air travel.
