Ankara: Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has categorically denied allegations of a “plan to resettle Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in camps in northern Syria,” emphasizing that these claims are completely unfounded. Yerlikaya stressed that Turkey supports the Palestinian struggle against Israeli occupation and rejects any attempts to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Yerlikaya stated in a press release that Turkey and its President Recep Tayyip Erdogan consistently express support for Palestinians in Gaza at international forums. Turkey is committed to efforts aimed at halting Israeli attacks on Gaza and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region.

The American network CBS had earlier claimed that the United States and Israel had communicated with the Syrian government through intermediaries regarding a plan, allegedly proposed by former President Donald Trump, to displace Palestinians from Gaza and resettle them elsewhere. This plan reportedly included proposals to relocate Gaza residents to Jordan and Egypt and transform Gaza into a “Riviera of the Middle East” under American control. International opposition led Trump to retract the plan, asserting that “no one will be forced to leave Gaza.” His special envoy, Steve Witkoff, indicated that the proposal aimed to encourage relevant countries to submit plans regarding Gaza.
