Doha: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani recently conducted a swift visit to Qatar, engaging in discussions with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the purpose of this tripartite meeting was to address the rapid developments occurring in the region, particularly the situation in Syria. The Prime Minister emphasized Iraq’s vigilant observation of the ongoing events in Syria and the foreign military presence in the country. He reaffirmed Iraq’s unwavering stance advocating for a comprehensive political resolution and the safeguarding of Syria’s diverse social, religious, and national fabric. Additionally, he underscored the importance of protecting sacred sites, places of worship, and the various components of Syrian society.
