Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein affirmed Iraq’s keenness to enhance economic cooperation with Bulgaria and its commitment to continuing dialogue with international partners.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Hussein received a phone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, George Georgiev. They discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries.

During the call, the two sides reviewed aspects of existing bilateral cooperation and its future prospects, focusing on strengthening the economic partnership. The discussion also addressed the “Development Road” project, with the Bulgarian Minister expressing his country’s readiness to contribute to this strategic project, which is expected to stimulate regional growth by linking infrastructure and facilitating trade flow.

Fuad Hussein promised to follow up on the Bulgarian proposals related to the project, stressing Iraq’s keenness to strengthen economic cooperation with Bulgaria and its commitment to continuing dialogue with international partners to achieve common interests.

At the end of the call, the Bulgarian Minister extended an official invitation to Fuad Hussein to visit Bulgaria, with the aim of deepening bilateral dialogue. Fuad Hussein expressed his gratitude for the invitation, affirming his readiness to accept it at the earliest possible opportunity.
