Ukraine Accused of Violating Truce and Targeting Energy Infrastructure

Moscow: The Russian Foreign Ministry has accused Ukraine of not adhering to a declared truce and deliberately targeting civilian energy infrastructure.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry, stated on her Telegram account that Ukrainian forces used American HIMARS weapons to violate the truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zakharova emphasized that despite the cessation of strikes on energy infrastructure facilities, Ukraine targeted these civilian sites intentionally.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously accused Russia of breaching the truce over 2,000 times. However, he noted that no Russian airstrikes had occurred during this period.

In a related development, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had conducted 900 airstrikes, including attacks in border areas, resulting in casualties and damage to civilian structures.
