Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emphasized that the security in Dhi Qar creates an appealing environment for global tourists.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s media office released a statement detailing al-Sudani’s recent field visit to the historic city of Ur. During his visit, he toured the Sumerian open theater and received a comprehensive briefing about the city.

Al-Sudani also evaluated the ongoing tourism projects in Ur, which he had initiated during a previous visit to Dhi Qar Governorate in August of the previous year. He reiterated the government’s commitment to advancing development and tourism projects, noting their growing acceptance among citizens. He emphasized that the region’s security not only attracts tourists worldwide but also contributes to accelerating economic growth in the governorate.
