Cairo: The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, engaged in discussions with Lebanese Minister of Labor Mohammad Bahjat Haidar regarding the situation of Lebanese workers in Iraq. This dialogue took place on the sidelines of the 51st session of the Arab Labor Conference in Cairo, focusing on ways to settle the legal status of Lebanese workers under the current Iraqi Labor Law.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting emphasized the mechanisms that regulate the operation of Lebanese companies in Iraq. The ministers highlighted the importance of adhering to existing laws and regulations to ensure proper governance.

Al-Asadi highlighted the strong fraternal ties between Iraq and Lebanon and reiterated Iraq’s unwavering support for Lebanon. He stressed the importance of continuing bilateral cooperation, particularly in labor, social security, and the exchange of expertise between the two nations.
