Donetsk: Russian forces continued their advance on various fronts over the past 48 hours, capturing new towns and improving and expanding their control over several sites previously held by Ukrainian forces prior to the Easter truce.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that units of the Russian Western Group of Forces had taken control of the town of Novomikhaylovka in Donetsk area before the Easter truce took effect. The ministry stated that the forces of the Russian Western Group liberated the town of Novomikhaylovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, with enemy losses amounting to more than 245 soldiers.

On Saturday, the Russian army took control of the town of Shevchenko in Donetsk. Additionally, units of the Russian “Center” group of forces took control of important lines and positions, defeating Ukrainian forces in the areas of Uspenovka, Zverevo, Nadezhdinka, Krasnoarmeysk, Petrovskoye, and Novopavlovka in Donetsk.
