Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qassim Al-Araji engaged in discussions regarding joint security cooperation and the advancement of strategic relations with the Italian Joint Operations Commander, General Giovanni Maria Iannucci.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Araji hosted General Iannucci, with the Italian Ambassador to Baghdad, Nicolo Fontana, also in attendance. The meeting focused on various subjects and files of mutual interest, emphasizing the enhancement of bilateral relations at a strategic level. Discussions highlighted Italy’s role within the international coalition aimed at eradicating the remnants of terrorist organizations and reinforcing Iraqi security forces.

Both parties underscored the significance of enhancing efforts towards cooperation and partnership in all areas. Al-Araji emphasized Iraq’s commitment to openness and constructive collaboration with the international community to boost regional and global security and stability.
