Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s support for the Syrian people, with all their sects and components.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office detailed a meeting between Al-Sudani and Abdullah Nizam, the Head of the Shiite Community in Syria. The meeting focused on reviewing developments in Syria and discussing the current situation in the region.
During the discussion, Al-Sudani emphasized Iraq’s commitment to supporting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He highlighted the importance of integrating all components of the Syrian society. The talks underscored the significance of unifying discourse to support coexistence and civil peace through the involvement of religious figures.
The meeting further stressed the need to strengthen community unity, reject extremism, and promote citizenship to achieve social justice. This approach aims to solidify national unity among the Syrian people, thereby enhancing security and stability in the region.
