Shiraz: Two earthquakes measuring 4.2 and 3 degrees on the Richter scale struck Fars Province in southern Iran today. The Iranian Seismological Center reported that the earthquake occurred in the city of Ardakan and was recorded at a depth of 6 kilometers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Masoud Abed, head of the Emergency Management Authority in Fars Province, stated that the two earthquakes resulted in four people suffering minor injuries.

The 1990 earthquake that struck northern Iran was the most powerful in the country’s history, measuring 7.4 degrees on the Richter scale. It resulted in 40,000 fatalities, 300,000 injuries, and displaced half a million people.
