Postponement of Ruling in Khor Abdullah Agreement Unconstitutionality Case

Baghdad: The Federal Court ruled today to postpone the consideration of the lawsuit filed by the President of the Republic and the Council of Ministers regarding the reversal of its previous decision that declared the ratification of the Khor Abdullah Agreement law unconstitutional. The new date for consideration is set for April 30.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Presidents of the Republic and the Council of Ministers, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid and Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, had initiated the lawsuit with the Federal Court. Their objective is to have the court reverse its previous decision, which declared the ratification of the Khor Abdullah Agreement law No. 42 of 2013 unconstitutional, and to establish that the law is indeed constitutional.
