Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin received a letter from his US counterpart, Donald Trump, regarding Washington’s efforts to end the war between Moscow and Kyiv. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated in press statements that Steve Witkoff, the US President’s Special Envoy, delivered a letter from his country’s President to Putin, which addressed the possibility of resuming direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump described the talks between his country and Moscow as “an important moment in diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine,” while Witkoff continues to play Washington’s main interlocutor with President Putin as Washington seeks to reach an agreement to end the war between the two neighboring countries.
Witkoff held three lengthy meetings with Putin, the last of which was on April 11 in St. Petersburg.
