Diyala: The Diyala Police Command revealed the circumstances surrounding the assassination of citizen Yaqoub Eidan Muhammad and the dumping of his body on the Kirkuk-Baghdad road to conceal the crime.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a statement that the assassination of Yaqoub Eidan Muhammad, whose body was found 30 days ago near the Hibhib district, occurred under mysterious circumstances after the body was removed from the crime scene.

The statement added that the investigation was conducted under the supervision of the Diyala Police Commander. A specialized security team was formed to investigate the incident and collect evidence and testimonies, leading to the arrest of the accused, identified as A. H. D. Legal action was taken against him in accordance with Article 406 of the Criminal Code.

The Command indicated that investigations revealed the crime was committed under the pretext of self-defense. The criminal attempted to conceal evidence of the crime, but efforts by the security services resulted in his arrest following precise intelligence efforts and continuous work to collect evidence, investigate, and review surveillance cameras.
