Amman: Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein on Sunday in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Kurdistan Regional Presidency released a statement noting that the meeting focused on enhancing relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region. They explored expanding cooperation in political, economic, and security areas and exchanged views on current regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Nechirvan Barzani conveyed his appreciation for Jordan’s supportive stance toward Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, highlighting the friendship and shared history between the two sides.
King Abdullah II expressed Jordan’s eagerness to strengthen cooperative and partnership relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He emphasized Jordan’s commitment to supporting efforts that contribute to the security, stability, and progress of the region’s peoples.
The meeting also underscored the importance of coordinating joint efforts to maintain security, stability, and peace. The leaders discussed various other issues of mutual interest during their talks.
