Beijing: China and Central Asian countries agreed, during the sixth China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held on Saturday, to enhance cooperation in various fields. A statement issued after the meeting stated that all parties will continue to maintain close communication and coordination through diplomatic channels to ensure the complete success and fruitful outcomes of the upcoming China-Central Asia Summit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was attended by prominent figures including Murat Nurtulu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan; Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Jeenbek Kolobayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan; Sirodjidin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan; Bakhtior Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan; and Farkhat Durdiyev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China.

The participants affirmed their strong support for
core interests such as sovereignty, independence, security, unity, and territorial integrity, and their opposition to external forces interfering in the internal affairs of the countries participating. The parties also reaffirmed their support for multilateralism and international trade rules, and their opposition to unilateral protectionist practices.

According to the statement, all parties expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and implement mutually beneficial projects in the fields of infrastructure, digital connectivity, and the green economy. They affirmed their continued efforts to enhance Central Asia’s role in ensuring international energy and food security, developing international transportation and logistics routes, and ensuring the smooth supply of essential goods.

The statement indicated that all parties affirmed their commitment to strengthening regional and international security.
