Baghdad: The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has denied reports suggesting that it has issued a decision to ban the recruitment of workers from certain countries. In a statement, the Ministry emphasized the inaccuracy of such information, clarifying the jurisdictional boundaries regarding employment regulations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry specified that the authority to issue bans or entry decisions into Iraqi territory resides with the Ministry of Interior. The Ministry of Labor reiterated that it does not have the authority to implement such measures.
The Ministry further highlighted its commitment to the Cabinet’s decisions aimed at regulating the labor market and supporting the employment of national workers. This is being facilitated through the “Mihan” platform, designed to connect employers with qualified Iraqi personnel across various industries.
