2.8-Magnitude Earthquake Recorded North of Kirkuk


Kirkuk: The Iraqi Meteorological and Seismic Monitoring Authority announced today that an earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale was recorded north of Kirkuk Governorate. The seismic event, however, was not felt by the residents in the area.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the earthquake’s relatively low magnitude meant that it did not cause any noticeable impact on the local population or infrastructure. The monitoring authority continues to observe seismic activities in the region to ensure public safety and provide timely updates.
