Basra: The Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, announced today, Monday, the achievement of outstanding results in operational and revenue performance during the first quarter of 2025, with total revenues from Iraqi ports amounting to more than 314 billion dinars.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the company’s general manager stated that the total revenues achieved by the General Company for Iraqi Ports during the first quarter of this year amounted to 314,333,659,543 dinars. This achievement aligns with the significant and continuous support provided by the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, for the company’s operations.

He elaborated that during the month of December, revenues reached 109,268,338,139 dinars, while February brought in 98,736,354,689 dinars. Additionally, the revenues for another month amounted to 106,328,966,715 dinars. These revenues included contributions from the northern and southern ports of Umm Qasr, Khor Al-Zubair, and Abu Flus, as well as from oil port services.

Al-Fartousi emphasized that these results reflect the success of the development policies pursued by the company to enhance the commercial and economic activity of Iraqi ports. The company is committed to improving handling efficiency and expanding its infrastructure to keep pace with the rapid growth in import and export activities. He noted that “these indicators represent the fruits of the efforts of our cadres across all Iraqi ports.”

The company is also working to enhance its performance by developing the operational and logistical system, which will contribute to strengthening Iraq’s position on the regional and international maritime transport map. Upcoming plans include modernizing docks, expanding yards, and using advanced electronic systems to facilitate procedures and reduce the time required to complete transactions.
