Mosul: The city of Mosul, the capital of Nineveh Governorate, has witnessed a series of traffic accidents over the past 24 hours, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to 12 others.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a source from Nineveh Police detailed that eight separate traffic incidents took place in various parts of Nineveh. A significant collision occurred in the Bazwaya area east of Mosul, leading to the deaths of two young men in their twenties and injuries to three others, while an additional nine individuals sustained injuries across other accidents. The source identified excessive speed and non-adherence to traffic rules as primary factors contributing to these accidents.

Emergency response teams, including ambulance and civil defense units, acted swiftly to transport the injured to nearby hospitals for medical care. Authorities have launched investigations into each accident to ascertain the circumstances and assign responsibility.

The police source urged drivers to comply with speed limits and traffic regulations, particularly given the increased traffic within and around Mosul, to prevent further accidents and safeguard citizens’ well-being.
