Kuwaiti Authorities Revoke Citizenship from 157 Individuals


Kuwait City: Kuwaiti media reported that the citizenship of 154 people was revoked and the nationality certificates of 3 people were revoked.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the official newspaper “Kuwait Today” stated that Decree No. 88 of 2025 mandates the revocation of Kuwaiti citizenship from 154 individuals, as well as those who acquired it through them. Furthermore, the Cabinet’s decision involves the revocation of nationality certificates from 3 individuals. Citizenship is also revoked from anyone who obtained it through the holder of the revoked certificate, in accordance with Article 21 bis of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law, which addresses forgery.
