Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, in response to a statement by Steve Witkoff, the US President’s Special Envoy, confirmed that “uranium enrichment will continue in Iran.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Araqchi stressed that if the United States makes unrealistic demands, talks with it will not lead to results, noting that Witkoff’s statements indicate that he is far from the reality of the negotiations, as “enrichment in Iran will continue.”
Witkoff had previously stated that the United States would not allow Iran to enrich uranium even to one percent.
Last week, the fourth round of negotiations between Iran and the United States regarding the Iranian nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions on Tehran took place.
This round comes a month after the start of the dialogue between the two parties, followed by a two-week hiatus-the longest period of hiatus during these consultations, which Muscat organizes consecutively.
