Baghdad: Judge Faiq Zidan, Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Council, held discussions with Khalifa bin Saeed Al Busaidi, Chief Justice of the Sultanate of Oman, to explore the commonalities between the judicial systems of Iraq and Oman.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting involved discussions on the work and formation of the court structures in both nations. Judge Zidan and Chief Justice Al Busaidi exchanged judicial ideas, highlighting the similarities shared by the judicial systems of Iraq and Oman.
The Judicial Council noted in a statement that Judge Zidan had an opportunity to gain insights into the functioning and structuring of Oman’s Supreme Court. It is important to note that the Supreme Court of the Sultanate of Oman functions similarly to Iraq’s Court of Cassation and holds equivalent jurisdiction.
