Washington: The United States plans to impose sanctions on Sudan following allegations of chemical weapons use in 2024. US State Department Spokeswoman Tammy Bruce announced that the US government has reached a conclusion regarding Sudan’s use of such weapons and will notify Congress within 15 days before implementing the sanctions.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the sanctions will include restrictions on US exports to Sudan and limitations on Sudan’s access to US government loan lines. Bruce indicated that these sanctions are anticipated to come into effect on or around June 6.
