Sulaymaniyah: The Commander of the Border Forces has confirmed the completion of fortifications aimed at strengthening control over Iraq’s borders with neighboring countries. Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul Wahab Sakr, who leads the Border Forces, has directed these efforts, emphasizing their importance for national security.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Lieutenant General Sakr inspected the Northern Region Border Training School, where he was welcomed by Major General Dalir Farzanda al Zibari, the Commander of the First Region Borders. During his visit, he reviewed the training progress of the liberated regiment and the courses available to new contract recruits. He acknowledged the dedication of officers and instructors and stressed the need for high-quality services for trainees.

The inspection tour included a review of the school’s service and training facilities. Lieutenant General Sakr met with trainees, issuing instructions to enhance morale and encourage strict adherence to the training curriculum, which is crucial for preparing fighters both physically and in combat skills.

In a subsequent visit, Lieutenant General Sakr inspected the Third Border Brigade, which is tasked with securing the border strip in Sulaymaniyah Governorate. During a security conference attended by commanders of the Third and Twenty First Brigades, he directed efforts to complete border fortifications promptly, reinforcing control over Iraq’s borders.

Furthermore, the tour included a visit to the Kirkuk Customs Police Department, where Lieutenant General Sakr offered recommendations to improve performance and increase the efficiency of operations, thereby enhancing security and administrative efforts in this critical sector.
