Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command detachments arrested a number of suspects accused of various crimes and seized SIM cards, weapons, and drugs on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a statement: “The Baghdad Joint Operations Command detachments arrested a number of suspects under various legal provisions, including two who were found in possession of (19 SIM cards and license plates) without authorization. Unlicensed weapons and ammunition were also seized, in addition to narcotics and drug paraphernalia, and a number of vehicles and motorcycles violating traffic regulations were seized.”

It explained: “These duties came through the installation of ‘temporary’ surprise checkpoints on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa during the past 48 hours.”
