Moscow: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji discussed with the Egyptian Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Security Affairs, Abu Bakr Hafni Mahmoud, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of security, investment, and tourism. A statement by his media office said: “Al-Araji met in the Russian capital, Moscow, today, Thursday, with the Egyptian Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Security Affairs, Abu Bakr Hafni Mahmoud.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting comes on the sidelines of the 13th International Meeting of Senior Officials Responsible for Security Issues, held in the Russian capital, Moscow. During the meeting, they discussed strengthening fraternal relations between Iraq and Egypt and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of security, investment, and tourism.

The challenges facing the Gaza Strip, Yemen, and Sudan were also discussed. According to the statement, Al-Araji praised Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s visit to Baghdad and his attendance at the Arab Summit. The upcoming visit of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to Egypt was also discussed, which confirms the depth of the historical relations between the two brotherly countries.

The two sides also emphasized the importance of safe international navigation, emphasizing the importance of political solutions in Yemen as the best path to stability.
