Yarallah Reviews Security Situation in Kirkuk’s Zgheiton Valley

Kirkuk: The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, visited Zgheiton Valley within the Kirkuk Operations Sector to review the progress of operations and assess the security situation in the area. He was joined by his assistant for operations, the Commander of the Ground Forces, and the Secretary of Intelligence at the Army Chief of Staff.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Major General Moaz Badai, Commander of the 11th Division, announced that the 42nd Infantry Brigade, part of the 11th Infantry Division, successfully completed the clearing and excavation of Zgheiton Valley. The operations included diverting the watercourse to a regular channel and filling in reedbed areas that had previously served as a refuge for terrorists.

Badai stated that the engineering efforts led to the creation of model hills, culminating in the construction of “Martyrs’ Revenge Hill” at the site where several martyrs fell during a special operation targeting terrorists. He further explained that the valley is now securely under the control of the Iraqi army after being exploited by terrorist groups for two decades.
