Basra: A joint force arrested two suspects accused of arms trafficking in Shatt al-Arab District.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Basra Police Command stated in a statement that ‘a joint force from Shatt al-Arab Police Station, the Second Emergency Regiment, Shatt al-Arab Intelligence, and Shatt al-Arab Rescue Sector carried out a qualitative operation that resulted in the arrest of two suspects involved in arms trafficking.’

The statement added: “A rifle was seized along with a quantity of ammunition in the possession of the suspects. Legal measures have been taken against them and they will be referred to the competent judicial authorities.”
