New York: The UN Security Council convened this afternoon to discuss the current situation in Iraq. During the session, Mohammed Al-Hassan, the UN Secretary-General’s Representative in Iraq, provided a briefing highlighting the country’s ongoing efforts towards achieving stability and fostering integrated international relations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hassan emphasized the Iraqi government’s commitment to repatriating its citizens from Al-Hol camp in Syria. He also noted the dedication of the Electoral Commission in organizing fair elections. Furthermore, Al-Hassan commended Iraq for its humanitarian contributions to Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, reflecting the nation’s broader efforts in supporting regional stability and cooperation.
