Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received a phone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, on Wednesday. The two sides discussed the need to enhance diplomatic coordination among Islamic countries.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Foreign Ministry stated that the call covered the latest developments related to the ongoing war in the region and the changes in the positions of some countries regarding it. The discussions also involved the ongoing preparations for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) conference, scheduled to be held in Istanbul early next week. Both ministers emphasized the significance of this conference, considering the accelerating regional conditions and the challenges confronting the countries in the area.
The ministers underlined the necessity of reinforcing diplomatic coordination among Islamic nations to ensure regional stability and prevent further deterioration of the situation.
