Erbil: Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani affirmed on Wednesday that the issue of salaries for the region’s employees is a top priority, pointing to ongoing efforts to address this sensitive issue. During a meeting of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Council of Ministers, Masrour Barzani said, “The issue of salaries is one of the most important issues for us,” revealing that he had sent an official letter to the Federal Court in the past few days.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister expressed his hope that the Federal Court would issue a decision that serves the interests of the citizens of Kurdistan and the region’s employees, who are awaiting a solution that guarantees their livelihood stability. Relations between Baghdad and Erbil have witnessed intense activity in recent weeks in an attempt to resolve contentious issues, most notably the federal budget and the revenue distribution mechanism, amid continued government emphasis on the principle of justice and equality among all Iraqi governorates.
