Washington: US President Donald Trump announced that Iran has expressed interest in meeting, and he indicated that a meeting might take place. During a press conference at the White House, Trump discussed the current status of nuclear negotiations with Iran.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump stated that Iran was close to reaching a favorable nuclear deal. He emphasized his preference to avoid conflict, explaining that the situation presents a choice between engaging in a fight or allowing Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.

Trump clarified that he has not ruled out negotiations with Iran, mentioning that he has ideas for the negotiations but prefers to make decisions at the last minute. He has not yet reached a final decision regarding Iran.

He reiterated his longstanding position against Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon, expressing his desire to steer clear of further involvement with the country.
