Basra: The Ministry of Transport has confirmed that navigation in Iraqi ports, both oil and commercial, is proceeding without any disruptions, unaffected by regional tensions and current events in the area.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Ministry’s media office highlighted that teams from the General Company for Iraqi Ports are efficiently conducting technical and navigational work at Basra Oil Port docks and Marine Loading Buoys (SPM). This ensures the docking, unloading, and departure of giant tankers continue without significant disruption.

Farhan Al-Fartousi, the general manager of the company, emphasized that increasing revenues remains a priority, following directives from Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi. Al-Fartousi stated that all maritime units operate under strict operational plans, ensuring business continuity with high safety standards, and reassured that the ports remain stable despite the region’s tense security situation.

Al-Fartousi also revealed that between June 1 and 20, 48 oil tankers docked at Iraqi ports, demonstrating stable maritime performance and regular export continuity. He added that the General Company for Iraqi Ports maintains constant communication with security and regulatory authorities to ensure full readiness, underscoring that Iraqi ports are crucial for oil exports and will continue to operate at full capacity, unaffected by external circumstances.
