Baghdad: The Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission, Nawfal Abu Ragheef, and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iraq, Cui Wei, discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation and joint coordination in the fields of media, communications, and digital transformation in Baghdad on Tuesday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Abu Ragheef stressed the importance of expanding cultural and media partnerships at the level of modern technologies, institutional visions, and program development, considering this a fundamental pillar in developing bilateral relations. He indicated the Commission’s readiness to activate joint qualitative initiatives and institutional visions that ensure the success of related projects.

The meeting also reviewed China’s advanced experience in monitoring the quality of services and bridging digital gaps, as well as the technical capabilities that can be utilized to develop the Iraqi communications infrastructure, in line with digital sovereignty paths and infrastructure development plans.

The Chairman of the Commission gave a brief presentation on the investment environment available in Iraq and the incentives available to attract foreign companies in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. He emphasized the Commission’s openness to building strategic partnerships with friendly countries in priority sectors.
