Al-Araji Reaffirms Iraq’s Commitment to Protecting Diplomatic Missions


Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji affirmed Iraq’s commitment to its pledges to protect diplomatic missions operating in the country. Al-Araji received the Charg© d’Affaires of the British Embassy in Baghdad, Robin Milton, on Tuesday. The two sides discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as urgent international efforts to avert dangers and end conflicts in the region.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the British Charg© d’Affaires expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Iraqi government for its efforts to de-escalate tensions and contribute to solutions through its balanced policy in dealing with sensitive issues and files. He praised the role of the Iraqi government in providing protection for embassies and diplomatic missions during the recent crisis in the region.



Al-Araji reiterated Iraq’s commitment to its pledges to protect diplomatic missions operating in the country, noting that Iraq is simultaneously working with brotherly and friendly countries to spare the region the potential risks resulting from conflicts. He expressed his hope for the continuation of the approach of logic, wisdom, and diplomatic means to resolve outstanding disputes between countries.
