Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani held a telephone conversation today with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, as well as addressing the current developments in the region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Office released a statement emphasizing that both leaders agreed on the necessity of preventing further escalation of conflicts and military operations. This comes in light of the recent Zionist aggression against Iran and the ongoing war affecting civilians in Gaza.
Both leaders underscored the importance of self-restraint and the need for dialogue, while also urging adherence to international laws and resolutions. They called upon international and UN bodies to actively contribute to de-escalating tensions in the region.
