Jerusalem: The ceasefire between Iran and Israel came into effect at 7:00 AM this morning, after eleven days of exchange of air and missile strikes that began on June 11 with a large-scale Israeli air attack on nuclear and military facilities inside Iran.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran went into effect Tuesday morning at 7:00 AM Quds time, following 11 days of military escalation that began at dawn on Friday, June 13, with a large-scale Israeli attack targeting nuclear facilities and military sites inside Iran.

In the final hour, Iran bombed cities and strategic sites inside Israel, killing at least six Israelis in Beersheba and wounding more than 30 others, some of them critically, according to the Israeli Ambulance Service and Hebrew media.

Channel 12 reported that a ballistic missile directly hit a residential building in Beersheba, causing large parts of it to collapse.

Megn David Adom Director General Eli Benn said that ambulance crews, the army, and the Home Front Command are continuing to work to retrieve the victims, warning of the risk of a gas leak at the site.

Explosions were also heard in Tel Aviv and the central region, amid reports of injuries, while explosions were heard in occupied Quds, coinciding with sirens.

Israeli civil aviation authorities announced the closure of airspace until at least 7 p.m., and Channel 12 reported that Israeli warplanes had been flying without permission to land for hours.

The Israeli military said it detected new waves of Iranian missiles overnight and that air defenses intercepted them. It called on residents to remain in protected areas and comply with home-front instructions.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Tehran sought to carry out a “final strike” before the agreement entered into force, to stabilize the balance of deterrence before the truce.
