Baghdad: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Tuesday that Iran will abide by the ceasefire unless Israel violates it. Pezeshkian stated during a phone call with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, “If the Zionist regime does not violate the ceasefire, Iran will not violate it either.” He emphasized Iran’s readiness for dialogue and the defense of the legitimate rights of the Iranian people at the negotiating table.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iranian people have demonstrated unity in the face of aggression, as highlighted by Pezeshkian’s remarks. During the conversation, the Malaysian Prime Minister condemned the Israeli aggression against Iran, expressing admiration for the Iranian people’s courage and determination to achieve justice. He criticized Israel’s current stance as unacceptable, given its nuclear capabilities and attempts to deprive other countries of their legitimate rights.

A ceasefire came into effect at 7:00 a.m. today, intended to halt the hostilities between Israel and Iran that began on June 13. Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli military reported detecting missile launches from Iran toward Israeli territory, with air defense systems actively intercepting the threat. Sirens were heard in the north of Israel.

The Iranian Security Council reiterated Tehran’s commitment to the ceasefire, while Iranian state television refuted claims of any missile launches from Iran toward Israel after the ceasefire was initiated.
