Basra: Intelligence forces have successfully apprehended a gang involved in the theft of war remnants in the Basra Governorate. The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security has confirmed the arrest of the individuals responsible for the crime.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the directorate issued a statement revealing that the operation was conducted following the acquisition of precise intelligence information. Detachments from the Basra Intelligence and Security Directorate, which operates under the Ministry of Defense’s General Directorate of Intelligence and Security, were instrumental in capturing the gang. The individuals had been targeting a company specializing in demining activities within the region.

The statement further elaborated that the operation followed a thorough process of intelligence gathering and identification of the gang members’ locations. Subsequent to their arrest, legal procedures were promptly initiated, and the suspects have been handed over to the judiciary for further processing.
