Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding the killing of two Iraqi citizens in the Turkish city of Urfa. The Ministry expressed regret over the incident and confirmed the arrest of the perpetrators involved in the quarrel.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry’s statement highlighted its regret over the incident that took place on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of two members of the Iraqi community following a dispute with a Turkish citizen. The Ministry emphasized that the Consulate General of the Republic of Iraq in Gaziantep, along with the Embassy of Iraq in Ankara, is actively coordinating with Turkish authorities in the investigation. The authorities in Turkey have arrested the perpetrator and are working to determine the circumstances of the case to ensure justice is served.

The Ministry extended its condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased, assuring them of the necessary humanitarian and social support. It also reiterated its commitment to pursuing the issue through diplomatic channels, in coordination with relevant Turkish authorities, to protect the rights and dignity of Iraqi citizens.
