Najaf: The Ministry of Interior announced the issuance of imprisonment and dismissal sentences against officers and personnel following the escape of three suspects from a juvenile prison in Najaf Governorate. The Ministry stated in a statement: “Following the escape of three suspects from a juvenile prison in Najaf Governorate, a task force was formed and the fugitives were arrested. Interior Minister Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari directed the formation of a committee to investigate the circumstances of this incident.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement highlighted negligence and neglect on the part of some officers and personnel involved in the incident. As a result, those responsible were referred to the Internal Security Forces Court/Third District for further investigation. The Ministry underscored the importance of accountability and the need for strict measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
