Baghdad: Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandlawi has called upon the Security Council to take responsibility for addressing Israel’s clear violations of international law. Al-Mandlawi emphasized the urgent need for international intervention during a meeting at his residence with Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Glenn Miles. The meeting’s agenda included discussions on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for collaboration in parliamentary and developmental sectors, alongside recent developments on local and regional fronts.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mandlawi expressed Iraq’s eagerness to enhance cooperation with Australia across various domains, particularly in education, agriculture, energy, and investment. He highlighted a keen interest in bolstering parliamentary relations between the legislative bodies of both nations, focusing on the exchange of legal expertise.

Al-Mandlawi also raised concerns about the escalating efforts of the Zionist entity to widen conflicts in the region, citing recent aggression against Iran. He underscored the urgency of reinforcing the ceasefire between Iran and the occupying entity and implored the international community and the Security Council to break their silence on Israel’s blatant breaches of international laws and conventions. Al-Mandlawi called for global humanitarian intervention to address the dire situation in the Gaza Strip, where aid centers have become perilous for civilians.
