Kirkuk: Kirkuk International Airport announced the details of the attack on the airport runway last night. The airport administration said in an official statement: “At 11:30 p.m., three projectiles of unknown origin fell, two of which landed on the military side and one on the civilian side, causing a fire in the grass near the gate on the military side. The fire was extinguished by members of the Kirkuk International Airport Fire Department.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the attack resulted in one person being slightly injured, with no damage to the runway or airport facilities. The airport confirmed that the Kirkuk Operations Command and the units present in the vicinity of the airport responded quickly, deploying them in the vicinity of the airport.
The airport administration stated that there is no threat and the incident did not affect the scheduled flights.
