Tehran: The Iranian Fars News Agency reported on Tuesday evening that police arrested an Israeli agent in the capital, Tehran.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, “While security and law enforcement efforts continue to arrest traitors and spies, Tehran police announced the arrest of an agent of the Zionist entity, following intelligence surveillance.”
A news report from Tehran police stated that during investigations, it was found that the accused attempted to send information about sensitive locations in Tehran. It indicated that the agent photographed the conditions in the bazaar (Tehran’s main market) and the prices of goods. It also explained that the accused was linked to hostile accounts and networks and, while sending information in a message from Israeli leaders, requested the targeting of Iranian officials and important centers.
On Sunday, Iranian police announced the arrest of an Israeli Mossad agent in the Tehran metro. A police Spokesman said, “A Mossad agent was arrested at a Tehran metro station. He was manufacturing small drones in western Tehran Province and collecting reports on the country’s air defense performance through an internal network connection.” He added, “This individual also sent precise and detailed locations of sensitive areas and was arrested by the Capital Police Intelligence Organization.”
Iranian authorities have launched a large-scale arrest campaign targeting agents working for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, according to press reports, after Israel launched an attack on Iran last month, killing several senior scientists and military commanders.
