Ankara: Turkey’s Trade Minister –mer Bolat announced that the nation’s exports witnessed an 8 percent rise in June compared to the same month in 2024, reaching $20.5 billion.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Bolat emphasized during a press conference on Wednesday that Turkish exports for the first half of the year grew by 4.1 percent, totaling $131.4 billion. He expressed optimism that the annual figure would surpass $270 billion by year-end.

Bolat acknowledged the remarkable efforts of Turkish exporters, who achieved a historic increase, marking the highest monthly rate in the past year, amidst a global trade slowdown due to current developments and tensions.

On the import front, the Turkish Trade Minister reported that imports in June were valued at $28.7 billion, reflecting a 15.3 percent rise compared to the same month in 2024. This resulted in a monthly foreign trade deficit of $8.2 billion.

He further noted that the highest percentage of Turkish exports was directed towards Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy, and Iraq, respectively.
