Moscow: The Kremlin welcomed the United States’ decision on Wednesday to suspend some weapons deliveries to Ukraine, considering that reducing military support for Kyiv “brings the end of the conflict closer.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a statement, “The fewer weapons are delivered to Ukraine, the closer the end of the special military operation,” referring to the term Moscow uses for the war that has been ongoing since the beginning of 2022.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry warned in a statement that “any delay or postponement” in the delivery of US weapons “encourages” Russia to continue its military operations. It also summoned the US charg© d’affaires to protest the decision. The statement stressed that “any delay in supporting Ukraine’s defense capabilities will only encourage the aggressor to continue the war, rather than move toward peace.”

Ukrainian presidential advisor Dmytro Lytvyn indicated that Kyiv is seeking clarification from Washington. He stated, “We are working to clarify the matter, and I believe the picture will become clearer in the coming days.”
